I am currently starting my career out as a developer so do bare with me. I am currently running into a problem with migrating a live/production intranet based system to a test based environment. I am 90% of the way complete except for a problem that I am currently facing.
The problem I am currently facing is with regards to a rent payment web application that fails to register a userid. This application was written by a developer before my arrival. Hence I have very limited support.
Environment and Pre-requisite Software:
1. Redhat Linux Server
2. Jakarta Tomcat
3. Apache HTTP server
The server aspect of the application is deployed on the Redhat Linux Server that uses Jakata Tomcat and Apache HTTP server to deliver the client to any web-browser using an applet.
It uses RMI to help bind the server application to the rmi registry by which the client (webapp) would connect to.
Everytime I execute the client I get the following from the java runtime client console:
java.rmi.ConnectIOException: error during JRMP connection establishment; nested exception is:
at sun.rmi.transport.tcp.TCPChannel.createConnection( Unknown Source)
at sun.rmi.transport.tcp.TCPChannel.newConnection(Unk nown Source)
at sun.rmi.server.UnicastRef.newCall(Unknown Source)
at sun.rmi.registry.RegistryImpl_Stub.lookup(Unknown Source)
at java.rmi.Naming.lookup(Unknown Source)
at fha.rpis.client.RpisClientApplet.init(RpisClientAp plet.java:250)
at sun.applet.AppletPanel.run(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
Caused by: java.io.EOFException
at java.io.DataInputStream.readByte(Unknown Source)
... 8 more
I have attached some screenshots at your convenience for what it should display.
The steps take to start up the application are as followed in the supplimentary attachment.
