So, I have decided to finally learn more about the Java platform.
I found this site while building a resource list, to help me on my endeavour, and liked the look of it. Iíll probably just mooch for a bit while I learn the basics. Iím coming from a C/C++ Windows/.net background, but want to expand (Iím not overly fond of .net).
I look forward to participating, in the near future.
Hey the Code monkey! I come from a background of a few different languages and am picking up Java to. What doi you have so far for a Java resource list???
I haven't got much yet, I have spent a while bouncing around java.sun.com, making links to various pages along the way.
www . onjava . com seem to have some interesting articles, but I have not spent to much time there.
www . ibm . com/developerworks/java
This site
I only decided to learn Java a few days ago. :)
I'm also trying to decide what environment I want to use. NetBeans vs Eclipse vs JDeveloper (I have not looked into JDeveloper yet, as I have only just come across it while looking into Oracle [another thing I will be learning])
Please excuse the extra spaces in the web addresses, the site keeps adding a URL tag to them and then tells me I can't post links until I have made 20 posts.
Yeah, I got into Java about three weeks ago. the IDE I use is Eclipse. Mostly because it's free. It's works pretty well. Alot of the internet sites for Java tutorials are pretty terrible. I'm looking for a good one. Sun's site is pretty straight forward to a fellow programmer, but over the head for those just trying to get into it. I found some good Tutorials on these forums, it's not that bad, but I use a book that's pretty good and teaches the fundamentals of Java and Programing from the ground up.
If you find any good site's that have tutorials that are pretty straight forward, lemme knows! :)
Welcome to our community. :)
All of your experience really important here. Specially for Java newbies.
I will suggest you give NetBeans a try as IDE. It will help you learn quickly
Please stop spamming the forum. You can get ban here. I found that on several threads you have post the same thing, doing some promotion on NetBeans. Yes you can do that, but in right place, right sub-forum. Don't just post here and there.
