is IntelliJ is slow in IDE ??

Hi I used IntelliJ 7.0.3. and i am working Java web Applications with tomcat5.5. My system configuration is 2 GB Ram. Core 2 Duo processor with 1.6 GHz. when i type some thing in IDE it takes time to print typed code. it's very slow in IDE. is IntelliJ takes more space. what configuration is good for IntelliJ . can any body give me an idea on this.

What OS do you use? There is one known performance problem on Ubuntu, see jetbrains. net/devnet/docs/DOC-1112 .

If it's not your case, follow the instructions at jetbrains. net/devnet/docs/DOC-192 .
