Sorry lol, I cannot say anything about that. Because I've never open Eclipse and see how it's look likes at all.

See my signature, or just go New To Java sub form. You can see a thread discuss about Java IDE. If you can go through it for a while lots of information can be found about IntelliJ IDEA.

Hi I used IntelliJ 7.0.3. and i am working Java web Applications with tomcat5.5. My system configuration is 2 GB Ram. Core 2 Duo processor with 1.6 GHz. when i type some thing in IDE it takes time to print typed code. it's very slow in IDE. is IntelliJ takes more space. what configuration is good for IntelliJ . can any body give me an idea on this.

First of all, this is not a technical discussion forum. So it's better that you ask this question on another forum. Because your question, nothing relevant to Java at all.

Hint: Try to increase the virtual memory and see.

If you see the above discussion, all threads are related to difference between IntelliJ and Ecllipse. so, my question is also related to same.

The thing our thread starter ask here and your question is completely different. The thread is about the difference, actually advantages and dis-advantages of two Java IDEs. That's directly related with Java.

In your question, looking some comments about the system requirements of an Java IDE. It's not directly related with Java, it's all about hardware stuff. When you are going to install a Java IDE, IntelliJ IDEA, in your system you no need to worry about comments' color. But in usage you can important that question.

I think you can find the difference there. :)

You can turn off all plugins that you don't use, and Idea will be faster.

But turning on and off time to time can be a mess as well. I think even plugins are there, IDEA is not a bad IDE for Java. Anyway I'm using NetBeans for a long time as well, and now completely a NetBeans user. ;) Seems it's much better than IDEA.
