Default Launching a shortcut with a .bat (with some specifics)

    G'day.

I want to launch a shortcut that starts an online java program -- with a proxy, through a .bat
So I launch the bat, it activates the shortcut and runs the java program with a proxy IP.

To whom ever supplies the code for the .bat, please explain what it does. I wish to learn how it works.

What is the purpose of the .bat file? Why not execute the shortcut directly?
How are you "launching" the file?
If you don't understand my response, don't ignore it, ask a question.

The purpose of the bat file is to launch the java program with a proxy IP to hide my actual IP.
Why not use the shortcut? I don't know, can I launch the shortcut with a proxy IP? That's not java.

Please explain how the IP address is passed to the java program?

How do you normally launch a shortcut?

I cannot explain how the IP address is passed to the java program, I don't know java or how the program itself works.
    Double clicking on the shortcut.

Moved out of java programming area.
I don't see where this has anything to do with java programming.
