Default I suck at this. I truly do

Hey guys. Here's what's wrong with my life:

I'm a programming student, Java, and I'm just terrible at it. There's only 7 students in my class, including me, some do Java, some do C++, so the teacher never gets up and shows us how to properly apply what we might be doing at the time, so we mostly watch youtube videos from other people. I've always loved computers, so naturally I'd sign up for the class. What makes me sad is that just tonight I realized I am really bad at programming, even simple assignments, and for a while now I've been relying on other kids in my class for help, and they're getting tired of it, naturally. I've always done really good in school up until this year, in both the programming class and regular classes, and I've always had a knack for science, and chemistry is the only class of mine I still excel at. Basically I feel really crappy right now, because I'm stuck in a class that I'm terrible at and I can't get out of it for the school year. I'm barely passing this class, and I really just wanna live a simple life of video games and *unmentionable things*, and to shut myself out of from the world for the most part. Just looking for some decent advice, as I'm feeling pretty bad right now.

Consider replying to answers given in your previous question. We like to know that you've at least read what we've posted, that we've not tried to help for no purpose. Then we can discuss the issues you've brought up in today's post.

I have read them, but I've been having a hard time lately, getting some other assignments started and actually getting to finish them by the due date before my teacher assigns something else, and that cycle just keeps repeating until I'm barely passing the class. Thanks for the help in my other post, by the way.

To learn programming and to learn it well, you have to get away from expecting your teacher to teach it to you, and instead must take on the responsibility of teaching it to yourself. That will mean not just doing youtube videos but reading and studying tutorials and blogs as well as books hard. It will mean writing code, lots and lots of code, modifying code, experimenting with code and playing with code. If you do this, you will likely advance very quickly and will have learned more than just how to program Java, you will learn how to take charge of your own education and your own future.

Thanks. I did get a book the other day, finally, and it's helped me understand a lot of things I didn't before. Sorry I took so long to reply, I haven't been able to get on much, lately. But thanks, really.
