Why does my screen look like this??
Every time I try to view the java options, or anything else java, my screen does this.

And this is what I get when I try to look at the java options from the control panel
Any ideas? I am trying to run this game and I can't see where to login. Is this a java issue? My other computer works just fine. I have tried uninstalling java and re-installing many times. Still the same issue.
Thanks,Last edited by PowerDr; 11-06-2012 at 02:37 AM.

Re: Why does my screen look like this??
Since this has nothing to do with programming in Java, I'm moving this to the forum lobby.

Try updating your graphics card drivers, and if that doesn't help then reduce the graphics hardware acceleration setting.

Re: Why does my screen look like this??
Thank you!!!! THAT WORKED!! I have asked this question on many different computer forums and everyone says to update the video driver, and uninstall and re-install java. I have done that many different times and nothing would fix this. No one has mentioned the acceleration settings. I had to move the slider down 2 notches. Now my program works!!! Thank you!
I am not sure what this means having to move the acceleration slider down 2 notches, it says that this disabled 3D applications and this corrects severe problems with DirectX accelerated applications. I will look into this, but this is great that I can get this game to work.
Thank you again db!

Re: Why does my screen look like this??
Glad your problem is solved. I'm not sure what it means either as I've never had to use this fix myself, but I've seen it recommended several times in the last 5 years or so that I've been regularly visiting Java forums.
AFAIK your 3D games should still run OK, but won't get the benefit of hardware acceleration. If you have a sufficiently fast processor and ample RAM, it probably won't cause any noticeable difference.
