    Default Copying code into Eclipse IDE without the numbers in the left margin

    Often I encounter code such as the following where each line is numbered in the left margin, which causes an error when the code is copied into the Eclipse IDE.

    Java Code:
    import java.util.Scanner;
    public class DateFifthTry
    {
    private String month;
    private int day;
    private int year; //a four digit number.
    public void writeOutput()
    {
    System.out.println(month + " " + day + ", " + year);
    }
    public void readInput()
    {
    How do I eliminate numbers 1-12 on the left, or better yet get Eclipse to ignore those numbers when it compiles?

    I moved this from the New to Java section, as it's not a technical question about Java.

    Also, I have no trouble selecting only the text without the line numbers using my mouse.

    In the post it works, but what about for pdfs?
