    Default IDE or Text editior

    hi,
    Im just starting out to learn java, and i know how to do VB.net (SAD), but anyways should i use a text editor or an IDE first to learn java?

    A text editor would be good enough for warming up and it simple to use too. You can just type your code, compile and run it. No need to mess around with an IDE first :D When you fill you are ready then you can pick any IDE of your choice.
