    Hi I am building a chat application.I want to use my gmail id for login and import the contacts in my application so that i can chat with them.Can anybody help me with that.

    Absolutely nothing to do with AWT/Swing. Until it is proved that the question has anything to do with Java, I'm moving this to the Forum Lobby.

    There are many sample client / server codes on the forum. Do a Search for the Socket class to find some samples.
