    Default How to get a mail IP

    Hollo I need to ping an email adress and to get its IP adress...Is it possible?
    It should be somthing like website ping,but I have no idea how to do this.. can you give me a hint?

    Don't be silly, an email address doesn't have an IP address. A mail server may.

    What are you actually trying to do (not how you are expecting to be able to do it)?

    I have no idea...someone asked me for a software wich pings an email and get it's IP adress... Thats all I know... Actually I'm also hearing it for 1st time...but as I can see its kinda impossible..

    That 'someone' doesn't know what s/he is talking about. Email addresses aren't coupled to IP addresses; email servers (e.g. pop and smtp) are and most of the time they can be looked up by a dns server.
