Hopefully I would be able to go there to and travel abroad as well.

(only reading this little thread now). Have you visited all the 'must see' beautiful buildings and neighbourhoods? What was the food like? Still as good as it ever was?

    kind regards,

Oh yes, we did the Louvre, the Orsay (My favorite), Napoleon's tomb, the Eiffel tour, the Arc of Triumph, but even more, we ate the bread, drank the wondrous wine, had some Belgium beer,... it was truly marvelous.

Did you also see the Madeleine (that pompous church with that famous pipe organ) and Montmartre? I bet those painters weren't there because it must've been freezing cold. b.t.w. those painters are real thieves: before you know it they've quickly painted something, claim it's a portrait of you and ask 100 euros for it ;-)

    kind regards,

    Jos

Didn't have time to see either of the two above as we only had 3 days. I will have to go again, but before doing so, I probably should first check out other sites in Europe including Prague, Buda-Pest, the Netherlands, Dalmatian cost, Istanbul, ....

Ah! The famouse 'Europe in 14 days' tours ;-) You can skip the Netherlands because we'll all be drowned by then. The rivers are flooding but the Dutch politicians have invented a trick: the large rivers are the responsibility of the provences but they subtract a certain amount from the water level because it is caused by the flooding of smaller rivers which are the responsibility of the individual communities; the ordinary tax payers happen to live in those communities, so guess what? Virtually speaking everything is fine and the flooding needs to be payed by the communities. Great; while all the melting snow comes in with speeds up to 2500 cubic metres per second. Aren't politics wonderful?

    kind regards,

    Jos

ps. if you happen to be in the neighbourhood drop me a note.
