    Default Laptop Help

Hey. I need some help picking out a laptop for school/programming. I went to my local Best Buy (mom does not want me to buy online) to look for some laptops on sale because I want to get one that's $550 or less. I found two that I liked:

    1. Intel Core i3-350M Processor Laptop: $500
    2. Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor T4500 Laptop: $550

Which one is better? Also, what does the 350M mean in i3-350M? Also, which i's are good? i3, i4, i5, etc.?

    Thanks in advance!

Nope, all of the i3, i5 and i7 processors are dual core at least. The old Intel Core series had 'Solo' core processors which were multicore processors with only one of them enabled (allowing Intel to sell chips with defects on them).

    kind regards,

    Jos

I'm sorry, I know almost nothing about hardware; I saw the laptop and I find it cute; maybe just the harddisk is a bit small. Have you considerd Dell laptops?

    kind regards,

    Jos

Hard disk is pretty small but I don't think I'm going to use even 100gb of hard-drive. Also, I think the battery life on that laptop is amazing.

My infinitesimal knowledge of laptops. I don't want to get a bad one. I could always return it, but that's besides the point.
