Default Future of Apple (Thoughts on their Direction)

Curious of what people think Apple's direction is going.

I sense they are becoming a bit power hungry.

    1. censorship in app store
    2. Ipod Search Warrant
    3. Hate for Adobe
    4. Freedom from Porn...

I'm sure there is much more, but I believe they are losing Apple fans left and right.

Freedom from porn is interesting. I don't know if anyone read the gwaker's ryam tate and steve jobs little argument, but I get where steve is coming from, (having a secure computer that doesn't get virus', permissions, censorship.. etc.)

but Freedom from porn, that will never happen, not to mention that most corporate companies still use windows, and not to mention, that people actually love windows for its security holes (hackers). I could keep rambling...

    Anyways..., your thoughts...

If any of you read bash.org, you'd find a pretty nifty quote there:
<Loonacy> Apple dumped the geek/hobbyist market to go after the highly profitable moron/trendy market.
I know this isn't really relevant to the points you made, but it does seem that Apple products are becoming more fashion accesory than usefull electronics.

I think they are in a pretty sweet position to be honest.

More and more the casual users are accepting having the internet limited in regards to what they can and will access.

Its great for people like us to be able to access multiple information resources, blog sites, forums etc

But most people dont leave the web 2.0 sphere, and Apple are quite happy to give them that. They also dont care if Apple are basterds to developers, because they get pretty Apps that do what they want on demand.

With iTunes, Apple has thrown weight around - CNN.com

Now the Department of Justice is investigating Apple and their Control over music prices.

I feel like Apple is just getting Power Hungry, I am a fan of apple, I've owned many ipods and now an ipad (which is petty damn cool) but I sense they are trying to control well everything.

Not wanting porn is a killer. Remember that old Philips V2000 video system? It was technically superior to Betamax and VHS but it didn't make it because of no porn.

    kind regards,

    Jos

Apples direction follows the same road as microsoft in a way. Release beta products at outrageous prices and and then be condescending to you customers, it's weird how this always seems to work, do people like being talked down to.
The last time apple was really innovative was with apple 2 having a Gui. Everything since then has been rehashed from others and just made tinier.
