Question Link ComboFieldEditors and change Values dynamically

    Hello,

i am currently working on my first plug-in for Eclipse: it is going to be a kind of standards validator for different kinds of Web-languages as PHP, CSS or JS.
I thought about using the Eclipse Preference Store to display the properties I made in an external file (such as an error-description and whether a rule is active or not) but I got stuck when I tried to link two ComboFieldEditors so that one can choose a set of rules in the first one and a list of methods to edit will be displayed in the second.
I have already added a listener (fireValueChanged) that gets me the selected value but I find no way to change/reload the name-value String[][] to display a different set of rules in the second ComboFieldEditor.

Thanks for your help in advance and of cause merry Christmas to everyone.
    Gregor

    Post Some additional information

Just to make some things clear:
I have already linked the ComboFieldEditors so that the seconds one loads an individual String[][] of value-name-pairs for each choice in the first CFE. But it only happens when its FieldEditorPreferencePage is called in the Preference menu. I can even switch to another choice in the first CFE, save and close the preferences and then call them again and the second CFE will show me the correct entries.
But of course I don't want to close and re-open each time so I need a way to 'update' or reload the second ComboFieldEditor so that it will read the new value.

So maybe now anyone has an idea - or alternatives (why not..!).
