    I reloaded the file eclipse-java-galileo-SR1-win32.zip.
    I decompressed it under C:\Program Files\eclipse.
but the problem is still there.
I'm surprised that I'm the first who encountered this problem.

    Don't reinstall a hundred times.
Open a command prompt and navigate to the directory containing the executable and run eclipse from there. Any errors will be displayed there and the window won't go away.

    Default eclipse.exe \b 0.0.0.0 > errorE.txt

    :rolleyes:I typed the command under eclipse dir "eclipse.exe \b 0.0.0.0 > errorE.txt"

and below is the content of errorE.txt

Error occurred during initialization of VM
    java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object

Right, so your eclipse doesn't know where java is. Read the .ini files in the eclipse folders to find out how to let it know that Java is alive and well on your computer.
