You say that 1.6GB is not enough for Eclipse. What you going to to do with that much of memory?
Actually you cannot assign whole memory you have, there is a limitation. Because same memory have share with all other applications/process in the system.

Hi,
I need the ram for the jvm, not for the eclipse itself. but the thing is that the ide does not allow me to allocate the amount of memory i need for that.(the parameters are like -Xms128m -Xmx2000m).
