    Default RAM Problem Eclipse

    Hy,

    I am running eclipse on a 4Giga RAM lenovo. However, eclipse does not allow me to set the memory alocated for the program more than 1600 mega. I need for my application at least 2 giga. Can anyone help me?

    You say that 1.6GB is not enough for Eclipse. What you going to to do with that much of memory?

    Actually you cannot assign whole memory you have, there is a limitation. Because same memory have share with all other applications/process in the system.

    Hi,

    I need the ram for the jvm, not for the eclipse itself. but the thing is that the ide does not allow me to allocate the amount of memory i need for that.(the parameters are like -Xms128m -Xmx2000m).
