Automatic Content Assist (no CTRL+SPACEBAR)
I am wondering if there is a way to configure the content assist feature to automatically give me parameter hints or content assistance without having to press (CTRL-SPACE or CTRL-SHIFT-SPACE). I looked at the Content Assist properties under Window->Preferences->Java->Editor->Content Assist, and added parentheses ".()" to the "Auto activation triggers for Java" option, but this didn't work.
Any help you can over is greatly appreciated. I am currently finding it very frustrating that I can't seem to set something as basic as that.

In the options Panel (on the right) you'll find Auto Activation under which you'll find the "Auto Activation Triggers for Java" option.
enter all the alphabets and .
Now anytime you type a character it will trigger content assist to appear.
