settings to make in eclipse for first use?

I have downloaded eclipse from eclipse website yesterday.
Now how can i set environment variables and set jre path and also tomcat path.
Any body can tell me how can i set these settings so that i can build my first java program...
I generally want to work with jsp and servlet...
