Default Some newbie questions about shortcuts

    Howdy--

I'm fairly new to Java, and totally new to Eclipse, and thus I've had some questions pop up. Google searching has yielded some good results about some cool shortcut keys for things like managing import statements, navigating to specific lines, and opening type files.

However, my questions are about more basic editing functions. Are there shortcut keys for jumping to the beginning/end of a line (without having to use Home et al, those are far away :P ), or moving the cursor forward and backward over characters and words a la Emacs? What about automatically adding a semicolon to the end of a line + a newline? Things like that.

Any help much appreciated, and sorry for asking a question which I'm sure gets asked a lot.

    Hi,
How come a eclipse related question became a java question...

Anyways coming to the ans, press ctrl+shift+L that will give you all the shortcuts possible in eclipse....
To finish sooner, take your own time....

It wasn't intended to be a Java question; sorry if it appeared that way.

From doing Ctrl-Shift-L, I see it tells me to just use Home and End keys, and arrow keys for cursor movement. I guess I'll have to give up my emacsy-shortcut dreams.

    Thanks.
