scripting preferences import

Hey all, is there any way to script the importing of preferences (File->Import->General Preferences)?
I can generate a EPF file but am not sure how to insert them without user intervention. Any tips would be appreciated!

nevermind i did this editing the files in
<workspace>\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.ru ntime\.settings\
