Looking for some info.
Hey i'm trying to figure out which language I should learn for a project i'm starting. What i'm wondering is how good is java for large database work? I want to build a website a lot like autotrader.com where people search a large database through my website. Is java the best language for this kind of work?

Also, how difficult would it be for someone with a little c++ knowledge to accomplish something like this? That is, how well do i have to know java to program the database code i'll need?

Thanks a bunch.

You can use any Programming Language as long as you know to use it. Search and read books that can help your problem. There's a lot of web tutorials out there...

Hey Before Going to techonolgy or tools wat u r goin to use, first try to understand the domain , how you are goin to start the project , wats the system flow and knowledge of each every components how it works , so try to get all the neccassary design docs like for eg - functional specs, so u get a clear picture and logic , then its simple to use the logic with any technology.

Java is best to do this type of applications.u can do your application with may frameworks.

Thanks,
