Question Using a textbox to get keypad code?

    Hello,

Is it possible to type up a Java applet that can retrieve keypad codes of a phone? I was explained this by the Phone's manufacturer who stated it was far too hard for them to find any data on the old phone I own.

I'm not clear on how that is possible, the development team mentioned using a textbox to do so.

I'm really not sure what you're asking. Are you asking if it's possible to run an applet on a phone? If so, I don't know of any phones that can run applets.

Are you asking if it's possible to write a Java program that connects with a phone via usb or some other connection? If so, the answer is a definite "maybe". What exactly are you trying to do?

No none of those you stated.

I was told by LG, the deveopment team explained that I can use a textbox to get the keypad codes for numbers 1, 2, 3, and 6 by using a textbox, they also stated that it would help me learn Java by doing so.

Seems like they might mean create a java program that logs the keypad?

Are you talking about writing a Java program that runs on the phone? That isn't an applet. Are you asking how to create a component that you type into?

Does your phone run Java ME? Or Android?

Okay so what is a Jad, and Jar file? If you have seen the other thread I mentioned about lifecycle that will show I'm using a basic old classic phone to create a Java program, so yes Java ME for MIDI 2.0.
