Default (ios7 Blur) Frost Glass Effect - Help

Hi, am new to JAVA and i wish to create an interface similar with ios' look and feel.. Is it possible to create such interface using
    Java's Graphics or Graphics2D libraries?

I've been 'googling' for weeks and have found answers, but they use JavaFX or some ios codes.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

Is it possible? Sure. What have you tried? What specifically are you trying to achieve?

Well Swing allows you to create and set your own look & feel; but that is far from a simple job. I would recommend doing a Google for "java swing look & feel" to see if there is not a readily available one that is good enough for you.

I'd actually start with Google images rather than the regular search.

Hi Kevin :) Thanks for the reply. sorry, if i wasn't too specific.

what i am trying to work on is to replicate this "Translucent-Blurry-Frosted-Glass Background effect" like the one on ios phones.
i will use the app interface on Desktop computers, not on phones.

i have worked on frame transparency which is cool and i guess it's step 1. i think it's a good start.
i can't blur the objects or the graphics behind my translucent frame. My idea is to copy the graphics
behind my frame on a buffer or clipboard and give it a box-blur or something like that and render it on screen.
i think that'll work. or maybe not.

actually, i have no idea where to start. hahaha. is there any way to do this just by adding a class file on my
project and instantiate an object and just call methods to set an area or a frame with a "Translucent-Blurry-Frosted-Glass Background effect"?
    i wish it's that easy.

i have found solutions like this one java - Frosted Glass Effect in JavaFX? - Stack Overflow
the effect was created using javafx. i need the effect to work on java without using javafx or some other api like openGL.

i am not too concerned about rendering performance. i just need the effect.
Or if you have any idea on where to start please let me know.

Thanks again KevinWorkman for your time reading this thread.
Hope we could get this to work.. :)

P.S. am not good at English. sorry if i can't explain things clearly.

Why don't you want to use JavaFX? It's a standard part of Java now.

I don't have iOS so I don't really know what you're talking about. Could you provide an image showing the effect you're talking about?
