Question Save, open, close, etc. structure in java program

So each editor has the set of options like the ones in the title. However, I'm having trouble implementing it in my program. What I did is * kinda of * working, but it's a bunch of dialogs that are related all one to another in different ways in one big hard to read mess.

I wanted to know if you could recomend me a source that deals with that kind of problem and disscuses how to make it work and be readable at the same time. I tried Googling, but I can't seem to find the right key words so nothing is popping up.

Maybe there is a library that deals with this?

    Thanks! =)

Some of the open source classes with names like FileUtils / FileUtilities probably have functionality that might be useful to you. But even if you roll your own, the key to maintainability is separation of responsibility. A method should do only one thing; a class should comprise of related members. So don't try to retrieve a file path and read/write the file all in one class.
