    Default Nasty Border Stuffs

    I'm attempting to customize the look of my application, but there are little pieces that I can't figure out how to change. Namely, the little lines on the side of a JComboBox and border around the drop-down part of a JMenu. I tried to use the "setBorderPainted(false)" method with no success.


    And also the sub-menus background is a light gray even though I told it to be dark D:

    What Look-and-Feel are you using? How are you creating this gui? Where is your SSCCE?
