    Default UI LookAndFeel

    Hi,

I'm looking for look and feel for my application.
I've seen some and got some n work, but it's not really my preference look and feel, so I wonder what other look and feel that's avaiable around.
I read about nimbus and some others but seems some are now commercial, while for that nimbus I can't seem get the path for the UIManager.setLookAndFeel.
tried com.sun.java.swing.plaf.nimbus.NimbusLookAndFeel, but seems that one isn't there...somehow I feel like it maybe still inside the JavaSE library itself, so I may try to see if I can find it...somewhere inside.

So if anyone know, would you please show me where it is ? Well or perhaps some other place to get look and feel jars ?
    I'm using JavaSE-1.6.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
Note : I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but look and feel seems to be part of swing for me.

Nimbus is part of the public API in Java SE 7. I wouldn't recommend using the preview version that shipped with Java SE 6 in any production environment.

If this is just a hobby project or homework, and you want to use the Nimbus preview, which is known to have multiple bugs (not sure it was ever updated to the version released as part of Java 7), use UIManager#getInstalledLookAndFeels() and iterate over the returned array looking for LookAndFeelInfo that returns "Nimbus" from getName(). Then setLookAndFeel to the String returned by its getClassName().

    I see...so it's part of 7.
So my choice will be using Java 7 or get another working LookAndFeel...or modify/create my own LookAndFeel (certainly not my preference to spend too much time in the appearance, excluding the hardship to actually make one working LaF).

    Thanks a lot Darryl,

Just so you know, I've seen mention that all the bugs haven't been ironed out of Nimbus, even in Java 7. I don't use it myself, so I can't confirm that.

Ah I see...that sounds troublesome, but none is completely bugless...as long as the bugs aren't too much and at crucial part I think I can live with it...probably.

May I ask you...what LookAndFeel that you use ? Do you make your own or anything ?
I know that some LaF has gone commercial (just like some other things), so it's just for personal consideration whether it's worth to spend some time working on it or not.

I'm not a developer, so I just use whatever LaF is currently the default.

Well, I found one that suits me fine...so I'm less bothered with this for now.

Anyway, thanks for keep answering Darryl...appreciate that
