    Default Boxes and BorderLayouts!

I have a BorderLayout. In the SOUTH location I want to place four buttons. I create a Box, put them in the Box, and add the Box to the SOUTH location.

I cannot get the damn Box to CENTER align if the box is smaller than the SOUTH location. (If I make the Box large than the SOUTH location, it CENTER aligns just fine.)

If I put the Box in a panel and then put the panel in the SOUTH location, it also CENTER aligns just fine.

What is so particular about boxes?

Vexing. Makes one long for Fortran-77 ... well, not really ...

Read it. Several times. Is there something I'm missing?

I don't know what you are missing since you didn't post your Short, Self Contained, Correct Example demonstrating the problem.
