Lightbulb Regarding length of task for the JProgressBar

    Hi,
I have created a java application which joins two pdf files even if they are secured/restricted for copy. In the second case , it takes time depending upon the size of individual pdf files so I wanted to display a progress bar to show the progress. I have searched on net regarding this but I always got stuck at one point, how to find the length of the joining task. Is it possible or will I have to resort to the Indeterminated progress bar?

the problem with this is that the time consumed to concat the pdf file into one defers from pc to pc... you will have to calculate the size of sum of pdf files and then set that as the maximum value of the progress bar and then calculate the progress of how much the application have read and how much have been writing... the more the application writes to the joint pdf file the more the progress bar increases.

I also have the same problem.
Instead of concat the pdf file i need it while printing .Now i am using progressbar in indeterminate mode.
    ie.
    progressBar.setIndeterminate(true)

But this setIndeterminate is not working properly. How can i do this?

    setIndeterminate is not working properly
Nothing wrong with setIndeterminate. To get better help sooner, post a SSCCE (Short, Self Contained, Compilable and Executable) example that demonstrates the problem.
