point of sale system help urgent

i m creating a point of sale system using java ...i want to create a sale screen that have all the records from a database and when user start writing in a field named "required item" all the records against that alphabet should display only e.g if user write "a" than only the records starting with "a" should be displayed and so on...and when user reached its required item ,when he enter on it that record should be added in a new table on that screen which was empty initially..i dont know how to do this..:o...i need a java code for this problem.please help me regarding this i shall be very thankful to you:)
