Hi I am a newbie here
I dont have much experience in GUI kinda java like swing

I can NOT do it on jsp since the servers do NOT have tomcat as of now. My question is To develop (or to make it work) swing DO I NEED to use any tomcat?? since my servers dont have tomcat I can go for PHP if incase swing apps must need of tomcat.

    Cyberdesi,

first off, it sounds like your kinda building something based off a servlet, is this correct?

Your answer to swing and tomcat is no, you do not need both. You can run your program off the integrated java application server in your ide (eclipse or netbeans)

What do you mean your servers dont have tomcat? tomcat is a server. Or are you saying your physical servers don't have tomcat installed?
    ~ Sno ~

YES the webservers does not have tomcat installed...I need to develop a exe/jar kind of sw or program and install on all clients, which is a swing app. with some fields like dropdowns/text fields etc. so that the user can see edit/create CRUD data.
