serial communication is very slow while reading from serial port

hi, i am developing swing based serial commuincation used javacomm jar to write and read from serial port.i am used thread based application to read data from serial port.but it is very slow can anybody face this problem

Have a look at the RXTX : serial and parallel I/O libraries supporting Sun's CommAPI package; it's (functionally) equivalent or even identical to Sun's comms package but it's much faster (and better too imho).
