i want to create a word writter and formatter just like microsoft word in java. frm where should i start

my application must have menu that have menu items as FILE,INSERT,PAGE LAYOUT,VIEW as in microsoft word 2010.Actually sir i have to merge two functionality of two software that are Microsoft Word 2010 and chem office (Drawing structures of chemistry).I am java beginners knows J2EE and struts framework, i will try my application if i have some guidence.

for the gui components a good place to start is Lesson: Using Swing Components (The Java™ Tutorials > Creating a GUI With JFC/Swing) for the other functionality like page layout, view drawing structures i can't help, but google is your friend...
