    Default Existing swing application

Ive got an existing SWING application source code and I want to make changes in the UI, is it possible to import the application source into GUI DEV tool that will allow me to drag and drop or do I just have to manual hack at the SWING code until it looks the way I want ?

most likely you would need to manually edit the code. as GUI development tools either assume the application is built using a platform API, or toolkit, and those that don't use comments, metadata, or follow a convention. and the success of using these would depend on if the existing application is developed using one of these approaches.

You could probably create a jUnit or other test case (or even launch within the IDE), that would just boot up the swing frame, or widget object on its own, such as to see how the form looks as you edit it.

I doubt very much that you'll be able to get a GUI builder to accept the current code. I think you'll be much better off hand-coding any changes.

Thanks for the comments, I thought that was the case. I shall mark this thread as solved although any further comments are welcome.
