Angry JNLP - Swing application compiled in jdk1.5 not working in jdk1.6

I have one swing application, compiled in jdk 1.5 and deployed in JNLP with jdk 1.5. When client machine try to access the application and having jre 1.5 then it works fine. but if client machine having jre 1.6 or version greater than 1.5 then application does not work properly.

Please help me, i got stuck and not able to solve the problem.

    Thanks in Advance.

What you mean saying "works fine" or "not work". How it looks like? Describe it

You need to do some basic trouble shooting before we can help.

Does the Swing application, apart from JNLP, run on 1.6?

Does an extremely simple "Hello, World" application packaged under JNLP in 1.5 run under 1.6?

Essentially, is the problem with the application or JNLP?

If i'll change jre from 1.6 to 1.5 then it works fine. i mean we can login into application and use it.

Here is the root of the problem:

java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 504 for URL: http://10.1.1.145:8080/timesheetportal/launch.jnlp

504 is a "gateway timeout", which seems to indicate the Web server could not process the request in a timely manner. That is odd, because all the server has to do is send the contents back to the client.

Sun's Java Tutorial has a number of small JNLP sample applications. Try running one of those with 1.6. They work for me. That would narrow the problem down to the JNLP file.
