Re: Good Android Game Programing Books?
It really depends if you want to use a Framework or not and if you want to start with 2D or 3D games. First of all you should get the idea that mobile development is very different to desktop or server development because you're working on very scarce resources. Therefore your first step should be looking into the activity lifecycle to get an idea what an activity is and how that is different from a JFrame.
Before you get into the gory details of graphic programming on Android you should write a very simple Network app. Maybe some kind of guestbook (which could be easily refactored to a scoreboard later on). This way you can learn something about how developing on the plattform feels and how to use things like IntentServices for network threads. A good starting point for Android development are the Vogella tutorials.
After you build a solid base I recommend Beginning Android Games. And when you're literate in android programming and build your first simple games have a look on the google io talks for that topic.
