    Default Telnet Client ?

    Hello all,

    beginner alert!

i pulled together a simple Java Telnet client using the org.apache.commons.net.telnet.TelnetClient api library. when using Juno, i had no issues running the application locally on my laptop. however, when recompiling in ADT version of Eclipse, and deploying to android tablet (4.2 Jelly bean) at run-time i get an error indicating the class is not defined.

so a couple of question come to mind:
    1. is the org.apache.commons.net.telnet.TelnetClient (or more specifically, the commons-net-3.2.jar) compatible with Android apps?
    2. is there another library recommend for telnet client service running on a android jelly bean?
    3. do i need to write (hack one together) using the java.net.socket class(s)... ?

    thanks!

turns out i was importing the jar file improperly (newbie!).

a nice explanation on how to properly import jar files, "commons-net-3.2.jar" specifically. (sorry for a reference to another forum ;) )
