Is Java compatible with android? and how do you make an android based program? (executable or applet??)

also, is it possible to know how to get or set something in an android like the time and date or other things? like a list of functions or something?

Android has a huge API which can be used in Java programs. Android uses something a little like executable jar archives which have both class files your program uses and associated resources. Android programs resemble applets (again, a little) in as much as they are designed to run within the Android environment which - like a browser and standard Java applets - coordinates things and provides the program with access to system resources.

The developer.android has a lot of information: from "overviews" about how things work through to full API documentation.

There are interpreters for Android which let you issue simple commands as you would using a shell in a desktop console. For details see the android-scripting wiki.

Moved to the main Android sub-forum.
Please do not ask for code as refusal often offends.

so is it possible to get times and date and other resources from the android to the Java applet?
and maybe even set time and alarms and play music from a directory in the android it self?

Most of the standard Java API is available on Android. To read about Android's implementation of Date, for example, https://www.google.com/search?q=android+date
Get in the habit of using standard Java naming conventions!
