From where you got it? Without knowing what you have done, how can we say about it more in details.
Mostly you get the dateFormat exception, because you have formated the date in wrong way.

May be he just catch Exceptions and that's it. He asking about it looking the IDE result.

No pal, we are not talking about the exception he get. We are try to point him to find what the exception is. You are right, without looking at the work he done, how can we say anything.

I guess he might used a Calendar/Gregorian Calendar or any Date related class that was accidentally set by a negative long value....
I may be wrong, but a zero long value was positioned on January 1, 1970 12:00:00 MIDNIGHT. lesser than that may be illegal... or that exception may occur...
