    Question Develop Java Database Application

    Hi, I am a java developer. I wants to develop applications on database(e.g MySQL) with java platform. Which platform(e.g JavaEE, JavaSE, JavaFX) I need to use to develop an application like, Student Management Software. Need to mention here also that database may be in server in network or in local. Another things , I like the graphical look and other facility of JavaFx. So Please help me by giving your valuable suggestions. Thank You

    You can use JavaSE, it works just fine!

    Hi Rona! You mentioned two java editions:EE,SE. The last one you mentioned is not a windows Application suitable framework, it is meant for the web. Just go with JavaEE and JavaSE, preferably JavEE, with respect to your statement "database may be in server in network or in local.".

    JavaFX (from 2.0 onwards) is the replacement for Swing, so it is not just meant for the web.
    Please do not ask for code as refusal often offends.

    The graphical look can however be implemented in Java SE using Swing concept.
    Next, for database related operations, i would recommend Hibernate.
    JDBC is old and got some drawbacks which needs the developer to have knowledge over the SQL commands.
    Hibernate however, does not require any kind of knowledge in SQL, it is easy and works on almost any RDBMS.
