Default javaexe : questions about transforming a java program into a service

    hello

I have a question concerning javaexe, a tool which allows to transform a java program into exe and, what is interesting to me, a service.

the doc is here : http://devwizard.free.fr/download/JavaExe%20-%20doc.zip

in this doc the writer says there are 2 ways to launch the program : from main and from interface methods. I want the second way.

after that, he says that for each access point, there are 2 ways to call the program : the JVM, and the javaexe program. I don't understand it.

I want to install my program as a service in windows, the program should appear in the services window of windows, should be stoppeable, restarteable, and should be automatically launched at the start of windows.

could you tell me how I can launch the methods from the JVM? I know how to launch the main method (with "java.exe") of my jar, that's all.

    thank you,

    olivier

    hello,

it's very simple to create a windows service with JavaExe :
    1) you must create a .properties file that has named like the .exe, and write "RunType = 1" in this file.
    2) you define a static method in your main class : serviceInit()

many examples are provided with JavaExe

You can also look into compiling the java bytecode into a native binary. Look at GCJ (GNU Compiler for the Java language), I've used it for Linux binaries. It may have a Windows version, or you might have to find an alternative.
