Hello everyone, this is my first post in this forum. I have some good knowledge in Java. I'm studying a TAFE course of advanced diploma in programming. I've been taught java for beginners and I', doing pretty well. I have also some knowledge in other programming languages. I want to learn how to create desktop programs using java IDE, Is there any good book around that I can buy?

It is strange if you said that you have good knowledge in Java you don't have to have the same questions. Do you know anything about swing or swt?

Check out effective java, it's a pretty awesome book.

The book Jos mentioned also covers a lot of detailed information. I'd say understanding the ideas java uses is the most important thing(oop stuff), and then practice using the different libraries to get better.
