Default org.hibernate.HibernateException: The database returned no natively generated identit

    Hi all,
I have upgraded my DB2 database and copied the old schema to the new database. But i am getting the error org.hibernate.HibernateException: The database returned no natively generated identity value. The field that is gving this value is mapped in Hibernate as "native".
Is it a set up issue or hibernate related issue.. plz help

I would say the message is fairly clear.
Hibernate is expecting DB2 to give it the identity for a newly created row, but DB2 isn't doing that.
So it's either a driver issue, or a DB2 issue.
Not knowing DB2 I can't say how its auto-generate ID stuff works.

    Thanks for the reply.

This error is not generated always. Sometimes it gives error. I am using JTOPEN 6.3 driver.
The DB is is AS400 machine.
