How to validate user to make sure he is connected to database?

Hi,

i have written code for connecting to database and its also connected to database where i was able to retrieve data from the connected server, but how can i validate or make sure to the user who is using the application to pop-up tat he is/not connected to database

Huh? If you simply want to notify the user that they are connected, a simple JOptionPane (if stand-alone), if web, then simply include some text String on the next pages. If you want to verify that the user is allowed "to connect to the DB" / "use your application", you need to build an entire authentication and roll system (which could be as simple as a flat-file).

Thanks for the reply, i got to know and finished validating it also.

Next thing i want to know is
In an software installation you will get "Next" button while installation is taking place, when we click next button, it takes us to new window i.e. next step, so if i do tat next step as a separate project, then how can i call in the "Next" button we clicked?
