Default Urgent - Browser Integration In Swing!

    Hello,

I have a big problem. I know watij and other web testing tools but they have a problem: I can not integrate an IE or Firefox instance in Swing. I need to do that.

What I basically want to do is this:

    - open IE or firefox browser in a JFrame
    - manipulate the browser (to be able to fill web forms from code)

I am a web apps tester and I am required to do a testing tool like that, where tests can be made, from a java desktop application.

Is there a way I can make Watij open the browser in a JFrame? I know Selenium can't do it.

What bothers me is that I've seen many VB6 apps doing that and I can't imagine Java can't do this thing. After all Java is stronger than VB6, right?

I searched a lot of forums but nobody provided a solution. Do you have any?

A simple code sample would also be appreciated.

PS: Hope the solution contains a free/open source API. Can't afford to buy very expensive widgets for that.

Thank you guys. Hope you can help me...

Can you please also provide a sample working code with web form filling too? Because their site only show how to open an URL in a Jframe (navigate). Thank you

That's not really how this works. What have you tried? What did google tell you? This isn't a code service. Ask a specific question, get a specific answer.

Of course I did. And I didn't ask for a project to be done here. Just few line codes to show how the filling is done. I saw many forums have this. People post few line codes to show exactly what they talk about. However, if it's against your forum rules, it's fine. Thanks anyway.

That's fine, but usually it's a give-and-take, something like this:

OP: I tried ABC and XYZ happened, but I was expecting 123.
    Forum: Try doing BCA instead.

It's harder to answer questions like "How do I do 123" because there are probably a bunch of ways, dependent upon style, context, and other factors.

That's why we (and every other forum I've seen) expect you to have at least some code worked out already. Even if it doesn't work, it shows us what you're trying to do.

Or you could just keep waiting. Up to you.

And, of course, that website contains a few demo codes.

Yes, but no filling form example is shown. Only navigation feature. That is why I asked your opinion. I tried JDIC in the past and I know I faced the exact same problem. I will try it again, and post the code I used here.
