Problem accessing mapped drives

Hi

We have a couple of applications that uses java to browse for files. The problem is that the open file dialog can't access mapped drives. It can see the mapped drive, but nothing happens when we double click on it

Is this a known problem with an easy fix?

We are running on Vista 64bit.

is your file dialog a JFileChooser? i just tested your issue in one of my java apps that use a JFileChooser and i could read and also write to all mapped drives.

This is applications that we have not developed ourself.

you can easily test if a JFileChooser solve your problem by copying the code from this site.

Windows is a poor choice of OS for network drives. It barely works even if you set everything up properly and use Explorer. I really don't think you're experiencing a java issue, I think you're experiencing a Windows issue or an improper configuration issue.

Thanks for your input.
We have been running this system for 4 years, but when we installed Vista64bit we introduced this java problem. No other applications are experiencing the same problem.

It's no problem for XP users

...did you update to a 64 bit JVM? If not, I'd try that.
