    Default unable to connect remote database using jdbc

    i want to connect remote database(which have MySql 5.1.26 RDMS)
    and give following exception....


    Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (Communications link failure

    Firewall, grants, host/ip, etc, etc, etc. First question first, do you have any idea what actually needs to be done on the network and/or MySQL side of things (forget about Java at the moment all together). If not, find that out first and make sure all of the conditions are met before playing around with jdbc. Doing both at the same time will be an exercise in futility.
