Default Real Time - Working on instant captured sound signal from microphone

    Hi people,

Can i have your advise how can i store the instant captured data from mic to a "place" ? Then i will retrieve the data from the "place" and work out some algorithm
    to detect the frequency value.

I wish to show the frequency value at instant when there is a voiced signal from mic. So not going to retrieve the data from the .wav file.

Really no idea since this is instant capturing but not retrieving data from .wav file.

Any class or reference i should use to work out the thing?

I have googled and found class INPUTSTREAM. But does this support my purpose?

    Very appreciate for your advise.

    Thank you for your reply.

Yes. I have google Java Sound.
It can record the sound from mic then store as supported extension.

But i can't find one that deal with real time capture.. Even the function that i found which used to retrieve the sound data is just retrieve data from audio file.

But for my purpose, i am not going to save my captured data as wav file.

I think i missed out something. Please advise what is the function of Java Sound that I should use for that purpose.

    Many Thanks!
