Live Video Streaming

Hi all,

I need to create a java gui of some kind that can support live video streaming. We have many input options for this incoming video stream. This could come from a web cam, a security camera, or a high end sony HVR-DH1000u camera.

We are potentially looking at using vlc, but are unsure about actual implementation of this. We need display this in something like a java swing element, or something similiar to that.

Thanks for any tips, tricks hints pointers etc.
