HELP: How to make Java Application worked via Remote Desktop
Hi all, I'm create an application with Java.
Then I put that application in server, and add it into windows service.
The problem is, when I use Windows Remote Desktop,
I can't see my form or my icon in system tray from Remote Desktop.
Although the service is running.
Is it possible to make java application that can used from remote desktop?
(for example like antivirus program, which its icon in system tray can be accessed from remote desktop)
Any suggestions will be welcome.
Create second application - a GUI
I think it's impossible to use graphical user interface (GUI) in an application running as service.
I think the right way is to create a second application. This one will be a GUI control interface. The GUI application can run under logged user and it can communicate with the service one e.g. over TCP connection.
After that you can use e.g. class java.awt.TrayIcon (since Java 1.6) for the tray icon in the GUI application.
Has someone a better idea?
